The over-the-top expressions remind me of the original Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. I wish they kept later games in that artstyle.

Superstar Saga is a big childhood inspiration. And yea, while I still like some of the later games, they kinda stopped putting emphasis on super expressive spritework after superstar saga, Which is disappointing.

I was always a fan of Rayman 3, it may not have been perfect but it's a shame we never got any more 3D Rayman in that style.
